(More customer reviews)We are a Heating and AC company. We installed the Honeywell HM509 series humidifier initially. It would not do even close to the amount of humidity that Honeywell claimed it would do. So we purchased the HM512 Series steam humidifier to satisfy our customer. It was installed per Honeywell's instructions. It does not work either. We are being called by our customer about every 2 weeks to come fix it. It takes about 2 hours to clean it out and then it works OK for about another 9-12 days, then he calls again. This has been going on since last fall. Honeywell has said that we can buy another kit for about $250.00 that should make it work, however they won't guarantee anything except that they will make more money from this kit. They have also put in a disclaimer out that if you do not have a water test done prior to installing the humidifier, then they will not stand behind it. I've been installing humidifiers since 1984 and have never seen a humidifier that works as bad as this one does. Some of our supply houses will not even sell these Honeywell humidifiers because they have had so many similar complaints as ours. We did put another one of these for another customer and she has had too many problems with it also. A word of advice, do not buy these pieces of junk, they do not work. Honeywell does have a 5 year warranty on parts, so if a part breaks on it, they will give you a replacement part, however they do not warrant that it will work. Buyer:Beware.
