(More customer reviews)I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the salt lamp looked when I got it. For such an inexpensive item from half way around the world, I wasn't sure it would turn out. The shape is good, it was well packed and undamaged, and works fine. The cord and switch are solid and seem robust. I haven't taken it apart to see the inside fixtures, but the UL listing was what got me to spend the extra money on this one instead of one much, much less expensive. I hope it is really certified and not counterfeit labels. The base is pretty good, but is unobtrusive, so it doesn't make much impact one way or the other.
What I like most is the soft, warm orangey glow that comes from the lamp. I leave it on most of the time in the evenings in the living room, which is nice. It allows me to walk through the room without turning on other lamps as well as makes a relaxing, meditative environment if I want to sit for a while. It is like a bright night light - I can't read by it, but it's perfect for having a cup of tea or talking on the phone or reading email.
