(More customer reviews)I bought this sprayer 3 years and 1 month ago (with a 3 year warranty) and ironically enough it overheated on me and is now in the trash. I was meticulous about cleaning after use and routinely cleaned the filter. I am a woodworker/cabinet maker and used the sprayer about every 3-4 months (not very often in my book). After contacting Campbell Hausfeld, they said there was nothing that they could do for me since I was 1 month out of warranty. In fact, they wouldn't even pay for shipping to their nearest service center. As the coversation progressed, I was subsequently informed that one cannot even buy parts for the turbine (no wonder they wouldn't help me out with shipping). Overall, I struggled with this sprayer every time I used it and I've never experienced such poor customer service. What a waste of 200 plus dollars! I'll never buy another Campbell Hausfeld product.

(More customer reviews)I've had this unit for a couple of years now...and in short it's priced fairly. Not too great but not too bad. It got me started with HVLP. It just does not have enough power for shooting any thick (even kinda thick) finish. If you just want to shoot waterborne poly it works fine.
I wanted to shoot paint and oil based poly. For paint, forget it. Even with the heavy needle it just shoots splatter. For oil based poly it can't shoot a smooth even finish. With the heavy needle in it you get orange peel.
It was a good intro machine for me, but I ended up going for the top end
Accuspray on the second go round. Triple the price but you get professional results (why waste your time spraying if you get sub-par results?) and 3M's PPS which makes clean up a breeze. You know it's hard to justify the price for an expensive unit but think how many hours you have into your project. Why risk an average finish on it.

Wagner 518080 Control Spray Max HVLP Sprayer Review

(More customer reviews)I had purchased another Wagner sprayer to use refinishing my kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong model. After doing some cabinet doors and not being satisfied, I called Wagner technical support.
I described what I was attempting to do and the lady told me that I needed the Max HLVP unit.
I used it yesterday for the two base coats and then this morning for the top coat of polyurethane. I couldn't be happier with the results!
The unit is light and has plenty of power.
I was spraying heavy interior latex and then satin polyurethane.
It takes some playing to understand the best settings on power and flow. But, once you get those dialed in and are consistent in your spray angles and distance, the unit will give you professional results.
It is very easy to clean and comes with two cups for small and larger jobs.
I plan to use this to finish the balance of the kitchen cabinets and then on multiple other interior and exterior jobs.

If you avoid that, the filter might work fine. If not, it will leak air and be worthless.
