(More customer reviews)First off, it's really 2800-3000 watts continuous. Jaingdong model JD3000. It uses a Jaingdong JF200 6.5 hp motor which is an excellent clone of the Honda OHV engine (licensed from Honda). It is smooth, quiet, and best of all pretty fuel efficient for a gasoline powered generator. The generator is brushless and therefore really has nothing to wear out other than bearings.
That's the good stuff...
Unfortunately, the Chinese pedigree does show in a few places. The fuel gauge never worked on mine. The electrical components (circuit breaker, meter, etc) seem kind of crude, but have held up OK in use so far.
I've owned this generator for almost two years now and it probably has about 40 hours of runtime. It had no trouble keeping us going during several power outages, the longest of which was about 30 hours. It ran an oil furnace, refrigerator, TV/DVD Player, and a few lights with no problem. The output voltage and frequency does not sag under load. I feel it is sized just about right for the load we place on it. A bigger generator would simply use more fuel.
One tip that makes the generator much easier to start. Always turn off the fuel petcock and remove the drain plug from the carburetor to drain out the old fuel. Replace plug and turn fuel petcock back on. Wait 30 seconds, flip on the choke, and it will start easily, even when it's quite cold outside. Fresh gas does help a lot too.
Overall, I think this is the best emergency generator value on the market. I paid $299 from Homier, and thought that was an outstanding price. I see they have it on sale for $219 right now. It's an outright steal for that price!
No matter what brand of generator you buy, if you have it shipped via UPS, or whatever, there is a chance it will have been handled very poorly. Shipping companies folks don't like handling heavy boxes and they tend to slam them around, roll them off the end of loading docks, etc. The bottom of the support frame was bent on mine, but was easily straightened. I would suggest planning to be at home when the generator is delivered, and if at all possible open the box before the driver leaves to document any possible damage.

Wagner 515010 Paint Crew Plus Paint Sprayer Review

(More customer reviews)I didn't need it for spraying, but for rolling, and it worked great for that. I was priming my newly scraped and textured ceilings, which were really sucking up paint, and it was taking forever. I wanted something that would deliver paint to my roller without me having to return to the tray for more paint. I debated whether to get a low end professional machine or a high end Wagner and I ultimately ended up with this...half the price.
I hesitated because of the Wagner Paint Crew...non plus version. Reports of needing lots of paint in the hopper to work properly, long cleanup procedure, and reliability issues. I figured that this unit addressed the problem of needing lots of paint in the hopper by the new design; which it did (it was pretty much down to the bottom before it sucked in air). And then I figured that those who didn't complain about the reliability were complaining about the clean up. In other words, those who didn't clean, had issues on the subsequent use.
As far as clean up goes, it went well. Yes it takes awhile, but not more than expected. You need to be able to follow directions; at least the first time. After getting used to the machine, everything seemed to make sense. Just be prepared to read the instructions...for both setup and cleaning.
What could use improvement? Well, my roller attachment that came with the unit was a bit out of round. It was a little bit bulged in the middle, which made putting the paint down a little more difficult. Many people also complained about needing a swivel attachment on the gun handle. I took their word for it and bought one just to be on the safe side; and yes, it is a must have (~$25).
Last thoughts/summary.
-Read manual
-Spend time to cleanup.
-I didn't use the spray nozzle...just the roller.
-Good for large area. Small area isn't worth the clean-up time.
-Would highly recommend

Wagner 0518050 Control Spray Double Duty Paint Sprayer Review

(More customer reviews)I did a fair amount of web research before using the Control Spray Double Duty.. after reading the other reviews I'm glad I did. With the proper prep work and techniques this spray gun has worked quite well for us.
Yes, the paint needs to be very thin.. not quite 'water thin' as one reviewer stated, but definitely thin. On average plan on 4 parts paint to one part water (or whatever thinner you're using).. at least for average latex paint using the CS Double Duty model. I understand with the original (and less powerful) Control Spray it's closer to 2:1. A viscosity tester comes with the painter.. a small funnel type cup that you dip into the paint, and then time how long it takes for the paint to flow out the bottom. There's a chart in the instructions that will tell you what the time should be for various types of paints (oils, varnish, stains).. but mine at least didn't include times for latex paints. Approx 65-70 seconds worked well for us.
We strained the paint each and every time we filled the paint cup. Debris, dust, hair.. tiny specks of who knows what floating in the air can land in your paint and clog the gun and stop or weaken the flow. We did have to experiment a few minutes with distance and speed to get the right coverage, but there was no spitting or clogging at any time, and the spray was fine and even. There was very little overspray.
Cleanup is easy, but must be done each time you stop spraying. The gun does heat a bit, and the paint is so thin it will 'bake' onto the innards if you let it sit.. so if you need to wait 20 or 30 minutes (or longer) for a coat to dry before you put down your next one, you'll have to clean the gun in the meantime. Luckily, it's easy and fast.. there are actually very few parts to clean.. and takes less than 5 minutes once you've done it a time or two. For latex, lukewarm water and soap was all that was needed.
Be prepared to take some time.. we found that numerous thin coats, with strokes that overlapped about 60% worked best.. at least for our project. We just finished painting our kitchen cabinets.. an excruciating and painstaking process, made considerably easier once we purchased the Control Spray Double Duty. It took some experimentation but we achieved beautiful, mirror-smooth finishes on all our cabinets and drawers. Again, this took time and effort.. but was definitely worth it. We plan on using the CS Double Duty to do a set of louver doors next, and to stain our back deck this summer.

(More customer reviews)Like a lot of woodoworkers, I put off buying an air filtration system longer than I should have. It's one of those things that realy should be done BEFORE you begin to set up a shop area. Well, I finally did my research on available machines and decided to buy the Jet. I'm glad I did. It definitely does a terrific job, is relatively quiet, and it mounts easily to the ceiling. The filters are easy to change -- just flip four clips and pull out the filter. The machine is also fairly lightweight, making it easier to mount. The remote control is a great feature, allowing you to turn the machine on and off from a distance, set the "speed" (hi, medium, or low), and set the timer (it has settings for 2, 4, and 6 hours). The timer is a very useful feature, since you can set the machine to run for 2 hours as you're leaving the shop, and you don't have to remember to come back down to turn it off as you do with other machines.
My ultimate test was sanding a large maple table top. I'll describe what it was like doing this before and after I got the Jet system.
BEFORE: My shop measures 30' long by 20' wide. Before I had this machine (when I had no air filtration system at all) whenever I sanded a table top the shop got filled with dust really quickly. Even after I stopped sanding, the dust hung in the air for maybe half an hour. And the next day, I'd come into the shop and see a thin layer of dust settled on everything.
AFTER: Now that I use this machine, the air never gets as dusty as it used to (even in the middle of sanding). Also, within five minutes after I'm done sanding, the air is crystal clear. By leaving the machine on after I'm all done, whatever dust remains is taken care of. The next day, coming into the shop, there is no dust on anything.

As a final note, I give it four stars because the remote does not allow 360-degree access. But this is a relatively small matter with such a great machine.
