Ordered this DC-1100CK Dust Collector System through Amazon.com. Took only 8 days to arrive from date of order. The system was delivered by UPS Ground. There were two large separate boxes that were unloaded and left by my garage door. All items were extremely well packaged and there were no damaged parts. Assembly of the entire unit took about 1 1/2 hours with no interruptions. The assembly instructions provided by Jet are excellent. The canister filter system is state-of-the-art all the way. Simply amazing at how efficient this system is. Absolutely no dust whatsover escapes from my table saw, band saw or radial arm saw when attached to the DC-1100CK system. Clear plastic collection bags are a great plus as you know when they need to be emptied or replaced. Jet even included 4 extra bags with the shipment!!! I did not have any of the leaks at the entrance port of the unit that other reviewers have noted in the past. I imagine that Jet has corrected the problem at the factory. My unit was perfect in every way. Very high quality components and great paint finish. This unit provides a huge amount of suction and is very quiet in operation. The large, high grade casters on the base of the unit make it very easy to move around my shop from tool to tool. If you are considering a dust collection system for your shop, this is definitely the one to get!!!!! Jet has a real winner here!!!! Cudos to them for a job extremely well done!!!

This new style dust collector will change the woodworking dust collection marketplace. Most woodworkers are looking for the most efficient dust collection system they can find, and the new JET canister filter dust collector, which filters down to 2 microns, delivers the superior dust collection today's woodworkers demand. The disposable clear plastic dust collection bag allows the user to remove debris directly to a trash can without creating a cloud of dust. The canister filter is cleaned by simply turning a handle on top of the unit that will shake the dust away from the filter material and into the collector bag.

Shop Fox W1666 2 HP 1550 CFM Dust Collector Review

Shop Fox W1666 2 HP 1550 CFM Dust Collector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After looking at many of the others in this marketplace, I found the Shop Fox. After closley inspecting the quality and workmanship vs the others, given the price differential I felt that there was not much difference between them.
I purchased this unit. It was well packaged, and all the parts were included. The hardware package was complete with more than enough bolts, washers and nuts for the job. Assembly instructions were clear, and it went together in about an hour. The only annoying thing was the straps for the filter bags which unlike the Delta machine, do not have springs to create the tension needed to clip them shut. However, after a bit of fiddling, I was able to get them to work.
Operationally, it is very effective, moves a lot of air, and really keeps the chips and dust down. I'd recommend using a trash trap ahead of the blower assembly to catch larger bits of wood, especially if you're using it on a tool that makes larger chips and chunks.
It's noisy, natually, but works well, and I'm very satisfied with the performance. I'd also strongly suggest the use of either blast gate switches or a remote 220 switch. Walking over to turn it on and off is a pain. Shop Fox makes a remote switch for about $45 which is GREAT! Just add it to the cost of the unit. You'll be glad you did. After 6 months of almost daily use, it's working just fine.
Enjoy. BTW, I also have a SF 10" Cabinet saw that I simply love...undoubtedly the best bang for the buck out there.

Grizzly G0440 2 HP Cyclone Dust Collector Review

Grizzly G0440 2 HP Cyclone Dust Collector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I placed an order for this unit direct from Grizzly. They included a free gift in the order . I chose a set of 115 titanium bits. The bit set arrived first. The metal box that contained the bits was low quality with a interfering mechanisms and a catch that didn't line up. Despite the cheesy metal box, I've used the bits several times now and they work well.
This made me concerned about the dust collector. My fears were warranted - the box showed up and was beat up. It had some minor crushing and a couple of tears and one good sized hole. The pallet onto which it was stapled had one of the bottom members torn off leaving bare nails sticking out.
The box had an extra piece of cardboard taped to the top which appears to be because the box was so beat up that it needed augmentation. The box looked like it had be opened and taped shut several times. Notice this: Grizzly shipped a 425 lb shipment in a cardboard box stapled to a pallet and it is not bolted down. I'm not an expert in this area, but other manufacturers have sent me such large items crated, bolted down, and with steel bands holding everything in place.
Most troubling, was that inside, the collector parts were haphazardly placed in a somewhat random fashion with pieces of cardboard taped to parts to try and prevent them from damaging one another during shipping.
It didn't work, there was a substantial gouge in the side of the blower housing that was created by a nearby bolt.
Aside from all this packaging/shipping/customer service nonsense, I was impressed with how the unit appeared to be designed. The gauge of the steel was heavy, the welds look good, and the manual is excellent. The finish on the replacement intake barrel was good. The finish on the original was fair to poor (rough surface where air would be flowing).Update: after all the hassle of replacing the intake barrel I got the machine assembled and running.
I measured the noise level with my meter (keep in mind I have a small shop of about 20x12). It's reading about 87 dbA in operation. Before purchasing, Grizzly claimed it was 83 dbA at one meter (I called and asked, this isn't published). I am satisfied with this 87 dbA at 2 meters. I think it's reasonably close to what they had told me.
The collector worked great - for a week. I then started hearing major squeaking from the motor when shutting down the machine that lasts for nearly a minute! After spending more time disassembling the motor w/ technical service on the line to trouble shoot it, we determined the bearings in the motor are bad.
I'm now an official believer in all the hoopla about buying American motors. It is such a huge pain-in-the-($#((*$# to replace a motor of this size, I'll never mess with a second rate import motor again.
I called back about getting the motor replaced and they told me they can't replace the motor w/o escalating this problem to their home office. The reason, again, being that I hadn't noted the exterior chinks in the packaging on the bill of lading at the time of delivery. In essence, it seemed to me they were saying "if you don't note package damage on the exterior of the box at the time of delivery, your warranty is void". This is despite the fact that I did take digital photos to note it's condition before opening the box and sent them to both Grizzly and Fed-Ex freight. Fed-ex sent out an inspector who seemed to agree with me that both Grizzly and Fed-Ex should take responsibility. As first observer, this looked like more of a problem on Grizzly's end than Fed-Ex.
Update: the home office called stating they would pick up the defective motor, repair it, and send me the repaired motor back out. I found this objectionable because of all the previous hassle and additional downtime and asked that they send me a new motor before requiring me to send the old one back. Now waiting for them to get back to me. This motor is 8 feet in the air and probably weighs over 100lbs. It is a major undertaking to disassemble the dust collector and send it to them. I had to hire two additional guys to install it in the first place because I don't have a fork lift.
Update 2: although the motor sounds like it has a the bad bearing and considering that I'm a light user of this tool, it is still operating reliably a few years after purchase.

Cyclonic action separates the heavy dust particles from the fine particles and drops them into the 35-gallon steel drum. The fine dust travels past the 14-1/2" diameter impeller and is then trapped by a cartridge filter made of spun-bond polyester that filters 99.9% of particles from 0.2 to 2 microns in size. The cartridge filter is pleated to provide 86 square feet of surface area for efficient air movement and a clear plastic bag collects the fine cake that shakes off the filter for consistent dust collector performance. Casters mounted to the drum also make disposal of the larger chips and dust as easy as it gets. Other features include: a vertical motor support for reduced vibration, thick walled 11 gauge steel blower housing, 16 gauge steel cyclone body, 360 degree blower rotation for easy connection to a duct system, TEFC Class "F" motor and a magnetic switch. The optional steel legs and support frame (H7499) also make setup quick and easy.

JET DC-1100 / 708626GK 1100 CFM Dust Collector Review

JET DC-1100 / 708626GK 1100 CFM Dust Collector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been running my DC-1100 for about 6 months now. (My previous reviews mysteriously disappeared.) It is a great machine right out of the box, but I did do one modification to improve it: I added a strip of 1/4" x 3/4" foam insulation in the groove around the center ring that seats the top bag. Without it, the top bag leaked small quantities of fine dust, but not enough to foul the air. Running off 110 volts is a real advantage if you don't want to add more 220 circuits to your shop.
I bought it mainly to use with my Jet 5 hp, left tilt table saw (reviewed separately), but have since made fixtures to use with other tools. It really keeps the table saw clean. I also purchased a Woodstock International W1044, 4" to 2-1/2" adapter which allows me to connect it to my old shop vac hose for use on the floor and my router table. This machine is so quiet that my old shop vac now sits in the corner collecting no dust!
It really is quiet - making not much more noise than the average window air conditioner. I often leave it running between cuts and setups, just because I hate to bend down to reach the switch. It would be nice if Jet could mount it higher on the machine, like on one of the legs that hold the bags.
Other than the switch location and the easily fixed dust leak on the top bag, this machine approaches perfection. It will be a real improvement to your shop, especially if you are using a screaming shop vac for dust collection now!

This mask is very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time in the shop. I really appreciate the fact that it does not fog my glasses and fits comfortably over my beard. Haven't had any problems with the straps and after a few minutes I barely notice that I'm wearing the mask. It is much more comfortable than the cheap dust mask's with the rubber band straps. I find that the filters last a good long time and can be blown out with the air chuck. Since I use a lot of exotic woods in my small shop this mask could literally be a life saver. Highly recommend.

Bosch ROS20VSK 120-Volt Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander Kit Review

Bosch ROS20VSK 120-Volt Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bosch has hit a home run with this great redesign of an already great tool. This is an update of the popular Bosch 1295DVS(Variable Speed) random orbit sander. The Bosch 1295 was rated the best value AND the best overall random orbit sander in the August 2006 issue of Fine Woodworker magazine. It beat out the equivalent Festool, DeWalt, Makita, Craftsman, Rigid, Ryobi, and Porter-Cable.
I bought the ROS20VSK for $69.97 +tax at a big box retailer. I used the 1295DVS several months ago and now this one for a few weeks. They are very similar in performance. Same smooth start-up and great motion yet relatively low vibration and easy to control. Same vigorous removal of material but with a very even, smooth pattern. I'd like to see a side by side performance test of the ROS20VS and the 1295DVS because their internals are somewhat different, the most significant of which is the ROS20VS's less powerful motor.
The visible differences in this model are the features that were the biggest complaints from reviews of the 1295DVS. Bosch seems to have been listening: dust collection, sanding pad durability and ergonomics are all improved.
Ergonomics - The top has been given more form and elongated, similar to other random orbitals, but Bosch has made it's "tail" a bit more substantial than most. I thought it might get in the way and make it clunky but it doesn't. The shape allows for solid two handed sanding if needed and many other secure & comfortable hand holds. The variable speed dial has been moved to the back so there is no chance of accidentally adjusting it. Molded rubber has been added to all the right places for hands. There is even a small patch of rubber in the back above the dust port that is prefect extra grip for an index finger or thumb.
Sanding Pad - It comes with a standard soft backing pad with patented "Hook-Tight" backing. Bosch claims these extra tiny velcro hooks are more durable and thus make the pad last a lot longer. They also say it holds discs better and doesn't get clogged with dust as easily. My first use tells me the latter two claims are right. Time will tell on the pad's durability. The hooks are quite tiny, much more so than on any other hook & loop sander I've seen.(see picture above) Also... good feature: Bosch offers optional extra-soft pads for polishing and hard pads for finish removal... very thoughtful feature: Bosch provides space in the case for one of these optional pads.
Dust Collection - It seems a common complaint of the 1295DVS was its lack of an included vacuum attachment. If you wanted one, you had to shell out another $10. With this sander a vacuum hose attachment is included, it fits both 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 " vacuum hoses, and there is a special space for it in the case. Also, the dust outlet port is no longer a weird oblong shape but a 19mm cylinder with a rubber o-ring so you can use it directly with a Bosch hose if you have one.
The on-board dust collector has a larger translucent canister and comes off easily with a twisting motion. Because of the o-ring, it seals back on air-tight. It also has an easy to remove pop-off top with a pleated paper filter. (The filter is welded to the plastic top so a replacement filter would include a new top; the manual stresses not to wash the filter, dry clean only.) This collector is great for small jobs but it is so good at sucking up dust, you have to empty it regularly especially when using coarse grits. Having a vacuum attached is the way to go for bigger jobs.
No big complaints so far. Bosch has made a great sander better and when you add the case that has room for accessories and a bunch of discs, I think this is the best 5" variable speed random orbit sander in it's class... certainly the best deal.
--- UPDATE September '08 --- This sander has gone up in price since being introduced.(exchange rate) It's still worth every penny though. I have come to love the on-board dust collector; it is awesome! Very little wood dust escapes the powerful suction created. You must empty it regularly!!! If you don't, dust can block the filter and a large amount of air is forced back out through the pad's holes causing an undetectable air-cushion. I've found that this reverse air pressure can cause the disc to be released from the pad's hooks (too much dust collection is a nice problem to have).
--- June '09 --- Still running strong & smooth. At 5" and 2.2 amps, this efficient sander is, by nature, a finish sander. There are other types of sanders for other uses. That said, with 50 or 80 grit, this sander will tear through old finish, raised grain, scratches and cut marks... smoothly. If you plan to do a lot of coarse grit sanding, the hard sanding pad (Bosch Part No. RS035) improves performance substantially.

Trend Airshield Face Shield Review

Trend Airshield Face Shield
Average Reviews:

The Airshield is a needed accessory for many types of woodworking. It works well but is hampered by an ungainly procedure to change batteries and choice of materials and construction that does not hold up to extensive use. My airshield has ended up with numerous super glued joints and replaced rivets. Perhaps the Airshield Pro is designed better but the standard airshield does not hold up to continuous use.

Straps are good quality and easily adjustable with the quick release.
The 2 face shield protectors were nice.

The extra set of pads was nice to get started.
This worked really well when I ripped out my plaster ceilings.
I like the overall quality of the mask as well.
I wear glasses and was able to tighten up the straps to stop the air leaks.

This respirator works great, and is very comfortable too. I do find though, if you're doing an activity that gets your heart rate up, like cutting a whole lot of grass with a push mower with hills, that you'd better do it while its earlier in the morning if you plan to use the mask. The air in the mask gets pretty hot and can become uncomfortable to breath for a little while. Other than that, this mask is perfect, and cleaning it is a breeze.

I know this is a paint and pesticide mask, but its a grat woodworking mask as well. I have been a avid woodworker for over 25 years, and wish someone would have given me this mask long ago. Since I am not getting any younger and fine particle dust has become a real concern to woodworkers I believe this is an excellent mask if you do or do not use a central dust collection system while working with wood. I know there are cheapr masks out there that are rated for woodworking but do not filtrate down to the micron level of this respirator, the replacement cartridges for this mask are resonable and it washes up with soap and water when needed.

Powermatic PM1200 1791330 Air Filtration System Review

Powermatic PM1200 1791330 Air Filtration System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Most people who read these types of reviews are attempting to make a decision as to which brand or model to purchase. These units all have the same objective- move air through a filter.
I already had the JET AFS1000 installed in my shed, and it has performed well.
This past spring (March 2010) I set up an additional shop in the house basement in order to reduce shed utility costs during hot summer and cold winter months. For a while, I simply relocated the JET unit, but this did not last long before I decided to invest in an additional air filtration unit.
Originally, I intended to simply purchase another JET; however, after comparing the two I decided to order the Powermatic.
This is not so much a comparison to state which unit is better, but rather why I am very pleased with the PM1200.
COST: The JET unit wins here. When I purchased the AFS1000, it was a display model (last one in store) and I received a slight discount. To be fair, I need to compare stock pricing between the two.
At the time of my purchases (less than a year between the two), I paid more (about 15% more than the JET) for the PM1200. That said, the PM1200 is still worth every extra penny. If the budget is tight, the JET still gets the job done, albeit with more "quirks".
PACKAGING: The PM1200 arrived VERY well packaged. The box itself was constructed with thick, durable cardboard, and the foam shell was very high density. A nice touch is the fact that the foam motor supports inside the unit were sealed in plastic to avoid having to clean little pieces of foam out of the housing. (Note: My JET unit was purchased as a display model. It went from the store shelf to the back of the truck without packaging, so I cannot comment on packaging for it. But I suspect that it would be packaged similar to the PM.)
PERFORMANCE: AT high speed, the PM1200 is supposed to move more CFM than the JET AFS1000. I have not measured actual airflow between the two to determine this, as either unit is more than sufficient for my small shop needs.
However, I have the strong suspicion that the Powermatic has a better motor and fan design, because it is much quieter than the JET. I'm not going to disassemble each unit to actually see if they are the same or if there is a difference.
Were I to do measured tests between the two (I have not), I would suspect that the PM1200 moves an equal or greater amount of air with less noise and would also use less power to do it. Maybe someone else has already measured performance of these two units, but for now my time is better spent getting work done, and I am satisfied with my subjective comparison.
Whenever I moved the JET unit to the basement, I had problems with the remote. I have been told by others it is due to the fluorescent lighting. I do not have these problems with the PM1200. Being someone who considers himself "electronics technology impaired", I do not know if the remotes have different types of operation or if it is another cause, but I DO know that I have had no remote problems with the PM. So the JET stays in the shed with incandescent lighting, and the PM resides in the basement with the fluorescent lights.
Both of these units are supposedly sized to take standard "house furnace" filters for the outer filter. They slip right into the Powermatic; with the JET, I had to bend (read: mangle) the lips of the housing to accept the house filters. Perhaps my particular JET unit was slightly out of tolerance, but it is nice that I did not have to modify the Powermatic in any way.
AESTHETICS: Pick your favorite color. My shops are littered with all of them- gold/black, white/red, blue, green, red, etc. Some people are OCD about keeping all equipment the same brand, and that's OK, but I'm not. I simply purchase what I feel is the best that I can afford at the time I need it.
I DO like the black grilles on the PM1200. Sort of the difference between looking at a truck with a nice grille, and then looking at one with just the radiator. In this case, no impact on performance, but just presents a better image to me.
I suppose if one is working under similar conditions as mine (clumsy person working with long boards in tight confines), then the grilles can be thought of as extra protection to the filters, but other than that, they just "look" better.
SERVICE: Other than the fluorescent light problem with the JET mentioned above, I have not had any significant problems with either unit. I know that Powermatic has the best warranty (5 years). I have consulted with both companies in the past regarding other equipment, and have always received prompt, courteous service from each.
In conclusion, I am extremely satisfied with the PM1200. I feel it is definitely worth the money.
If I had to make another purchase, I would choose the PM1200 based on the reduced noise alone.

The Powermatic PM1200 Air Filtration System uses a two-step filtration process to trap up to 99% of five-micron particles and 85% of one-micron particles. This unit can be operated at the cabinet or with the included remote radio frequency transmitter. It includes necessary hardware for mounting to the ceiling and comes with filter guards that can be installed and removed without tools.
Traps 99% of Five Micron and 85% of One-Micron ParticlesDesigned to strike the proper balance between air flow and filtration, the PM1200 is ideal for the professional woodworking shop, where dirt and debris can compromise air quality. The PM1200 uses two filter stages: the outer filter captures large particles and the inner filter catches the smaller particles that pass through the outer filter.
The electrostatic, disposable outer filter removes 99% of five-micron particles, while the inner filter captures 85% of one-micron particles and has high-mesh pockets that can be blown clean.
Readily-Available, Durable FiltersFor easy maintenance, the PM1200 uses intake filters measuring 24.0 x 12.0 x 1.0 inches (WxHxD), a readily available size. The exit filter does not require replacement and can be periodically cleaned with a vacuum or compressed air to ensure efficient operation.
Both the inlet and outlet filter guards are easy to install and remove without tools. The system grilles are secured via simple, finger-operated catches--they come off easily but stay securely in place during use.
Full Set of Controls to Save EnergyBecause woodworking shops have fluctuating levels of dust, the PM1200 features a full set of controls, all of which are conveniently located both on the system itself and on the included remote control with easy-to-read LCD screen. Set one of the three available speeds--Low (547 CFM), Medium (706 CFM), or High 1,196 (CFM)--to match current conditions and save on energy costs.
To ensure long-term performance, the PM1200 also boasts a programmable timer with nine settings for up to nine hours of operation, a re-settable pop-out fuse that protects the unit in case of a power surge, and a "change filter" light that automatically comes on after 200 hours of use.
The PM1200 is backed by a five-year warranty.

JDS Company 14006 8-12 Air-Tech High Efficiency Air Filtration System Review

JDS Company 14006 8-12 Air-Tech High Efficiency Air Filtration System

My air cleaner was delivered on time by FED X. The delivery guy helped me get it into my garage shop. When I opened it up the only damage I noticed was to the top of the air handler. It looked like someone had crimped a shipping band too tightly without adequate protection under it. The damage was minor and can't be seen once the system is in place next to the ceiling. This system is heavy and awkward to handle. It will take two people to get it in place. Three would make it simpler. I used four long chains and hooks and walked it up to the 91/2 foot ceiling with some help from my wife and a step ladder. The setup directions that come with the cleaner leave a little to be desired. The cleaner has a cardboard box inside the squirrel cage blower that has to be removed. This requires taking the side panel off to get to this. It is easily taken off using the two knurled knobs on the side. The filters are easy to get to for servicing. They slide out. This system doesn't have a automatic controller. It uses an on off and speed selector found on the side of the machine. This is fine for me because I am tall and can easily reach the side controls. The sound when it is operating is similar to my home heat pump air handler.I usually wear ear protection in the shop anyway so the sound is minor. I'm very pleased with the price, capacity, and handling of the system. I can already tell a huge difference in air quality in my shop. I used to clean up only to find fine dust covering everything the next day. Now it stays very clean. It's hard to spend money on something that doesn't create wood shavings for a shop but this is well worth it. Your lungs will thank you. I give it five stars.

Good product, just be aware you have to also order the covers to contain these cloth sheets. Actual filters do as described, easy to instal/place. Quite cheap for the amount you receive.

North CFR-1 Dust Mask with 21 Filters Review

North CFR-1 Dust Mask with 21 Filters

The product is well made, but the rubber across the nose tends to be too tight and causes discomfort. Other than that I like them. The head straps are heavy duty and comfortable.

This new offering nicely fills the gap between flimsy disposable dust masks and more serious respiratory protection. Replaceable filters (NIOSH rating N95) offer excellent dust protection. The low-profile mask body is made of very soft rubber, and is held in place with a double elastic strap. An exhalation valve vents the warm, moist air you exhale downward helping the filter medium last longer and leaving safety glasses unfogged.

JDS Company 14005 Charcoal Filter for JDS 750-ER Review

JDS Company 14005 Charcoal Filter for JDS 750-ER
Average Reviews:

At the JDS web site, they list this charcoal filter for the JDS 750, as intended to remove smoke, odor, and pollen from the air. I did not see any mention of using it as a paint fumes remover. It also should not in any way be used as an over spray clearer. I had a body shop for twenty years. We used special explosion proof motors for the wall fans, and one in the ceiling stack for the booth, because the build up of flammable paint over spray can be a fire hazard. Additionally, if over spray got near the JDS 750 air cleaner, it would clog at least the initial filter, and since you couldn't clean it properly, it would be rendered useless. The electrostatic pre-filter that comes with this unit is great for removing airborne dust particles etc. It is super easy to clean. It slides right out of the unit, without having to do any disassembly. I use a standard shop vac, to quickly reverse suck the dust out of it. No waiting for the pre filter to dry. If you have the time, gently washing it is the way to go. With the rigid wire mesh protecting it, using a vacuum doesn't damage it, and it a lot more convenient. Back to the charcoal filter.
If you working with someone who smokes, and doesn't bathe as often as you would like, and has a habit of taking a run through the ragweed before coming into the shop, the charcoal filter is just what the doctor ordered. :-) No seriously, it is great for those three things, eliminating smoke, odor, and pollen. Refinishing is best done in the garage, or a dedicated area, with fumes venting outside. Post filters are nice. No matter what you do, for the first 24 hours, you are going to get fumes coming off of the finish. It is a constant source, meeting up with a constant air filtration. (If you leave it running all night) Since it takes a certain amount of time for the filter to work, and the finish emitting fumes is non-stop, I guess you know who will win that race.
The garage is ideal for refinishing. During the summer it is great. During the winter, I use a salamander kerosene forced air heater on the floor with a thermostat. I refinish in the morning, and leave it running during the day. By the end of the day, the finish is baked so nice, it doesn't matter if it gets cold during the night. You don't want to spray refinish with the salamander going at the same time though. It not only is a fire hazard, it also wreaks havoc on your finish. What it does is take the over spray particles, and instantly turn them into baked hard tiny pellets, that are especially well suited to sticking on your finish, and sends them blowing into your shop, rising with the heated air, only to settle down onto your project. Net result, a heavy dust nubbed finish.
I just felt like I should say something about the suitability of this filter for refinishing. Hope it helps.

This charcoal filter is for the JDS Air Tech 750 and 350 models and will eliminate gases, odors, chemicals, and other fumes. It replaces the diffusing filter on the back of the unit. By installing the charcoal filter downstream from the particulate trapping filters, only clean air passes through the charcoal filter, which enhances the performance and extends the life of the activated charcoal. The average life of this filter ranges from 2 to 4 months, when used regularly. The actual life of the filter will depend on the amount of smoke and fumes created each day.
