(More customer reviews)I have owned probably nine of these, including the two I just bought. In concept they work great. They have dip switches to change from cooling control to heating control and are not rocket science to wire. In my winery application they just are not robust. They are not mil. spec. and lack even an o ring gasket. Heck they have friggin mounting screw holes through the housing! I will give Johnson the benefit of the doubt and assume the three of these I have that have gone T.U. did so because of operator error (moisture). I would gladly pay more for a mil. spec. housing! The real trouble is that I don't know of any good alternatives. Buy it and hope for the best my friends.
Update: These are now available in NEMA 4x weather tight enclosures. I am trying a couple of those. They cost about $15 more. I would recommend that type enclosure unless you have a very benign and dry environment at the controller location.
