However, until now I have not noticed any obvious difference in my allergic reactions that seem to start with the heating season.
There are two cats in my house. I have read that cat dander, tiny flakes of cat skin shed by the cats, is five times smaller than household dust particles. It stays in the air much longer than ordinary dust before it settles. Because of its small size it requires a more efficient filter to get it out of the air.

(More customer reviews)I Like that it's a merv 13. Don't know if it makes too much difference over a merv 12 which is what I usually buy. So the filter itself seems to be made well. We have been using it about a month. Cleans the air fast. The shipping was very fast. The package was packed well and sturdy. The thing I don't like is there is no arrow to show you up or down like my furnace directs so I just guessed. The seller should write an arrow if he knows. That's the only reason I took one star away. Good Filter.

(More customer reviews)I have an odd furnace filter size and my son has many allergies so I have to do a lot of research to find the right filter at the right price. These fit the bill (unlike the very expensive 3M Filtrete Ultra Allergen filters)promising a higher MERV rating at a better price. Two things bothered me when they arrived. They are loose in the box with no protective, sealed overwrap - odd for something so allergy-intensive. Plus, I ordered the 14x24x1 and they're imprinted ''14x25x1'' which is crossed out with marker, and my size is hand-written on another side. They do fit, however. Short of doing an environmental air flow test, I have to assume the promised MERV rating is correct, hence my lukewarm review.
