(More customer reviews)This filter is a MERC 13. I bought this filter because it has this rating. I really can't say it is better or worse than any other filter. My thinking is that if it claims to be MERC 13 it better be. In this case I have no reason to dispute otherwise. I think that that using this filter will ensure that whatever stuff is in the air, will be trappped in this filter. Using Amazon.com is great for finding things like this filter, that are not available in stores. I got a good deal and it was shipped immediately.
