(More customer reviews)This is a good buy. They work just as well as the ones I've bought at Home Depot or Menard's only they are less expensive for a MERV 8 rating, which I need since I have allergies and a dog that sheds.

Other brands suffer the same performance degradation as well, but are not as sneaky and misleading as 3M.Appendix J was created to simulate "Real World" performance by pre-conditioning filters with a minimal amount of dust before they are tested.For most filters, the efficiency should remain the same, or even increase or decrease by up to 5%.3M Filtrete filters all show a decrease of 15-30% in efficiency rating.This is due to an over-enhancement with electrostatic charge, which is a way to make lower grade filter media reach a higher initial efficiency.Low grade filter media + a great marketing team + a whole lot of money = 3M Filtrete.
