(More customer reviews)This is a replacement for a Jet air filter that lasted just over two years. Being a hobby woodworker with a basement shop it's critical for me to eliminate or remove dust. When my old unit quit I looked over the specs on several units. The biggest push for me was the 5 year warranty on the Steel City.
It took about a week for my item to arrive, and because this was a replacement I used the same chain mounts and it took 1/2 hour to remove the packaging inside the unit (make sure to remove the foam INSIDE of the unit before turning it on) and to install the eye bolts. From there it was simple to hang it.
I have read comments about how noisy these units are (all brands), and if you hang from chain as instructed all you hear is the "woosh" of the air going through the unit and the hum of the impeller. Very low noise compared to the Jet unit I owned.
I have owned a Steel City dust collector for a few years, and am very pleased with it. This was a good reason for me to look at the Steel City Air Filter. All functions have been tested and work well. The filters are easy to remove from the front. My local woodworking shop does carry the same unit, but was sold out with a 6 week wait.
Overall I'm very happy, and got exactly what I expected.
